I am looking forward to Thursday evening's Artisans' Section meeting at the Emerson Gallery at the STL Artist's Guild, Two Oak Knoll Park, Clayton, MO. The featured speaker will be Dan Belcher. As a landscape architect and artisan Dan has created many beautiful ornamental planters and containers for gardens. He has also designed sculptures, way-finding monuments, fountains and decorative elements for a variety of urban planning projects. And his claim to fame is his success as an award-winning sand sculptor. His amazing sand-sculpting projects span the globe including sculptures in Italy and Japan. The links below are to Dan's website and a news story about a competition he won in Washington state last summer. I hope to see many artisans and fellow artists' guild members there for Dan's digital slide presentation and talk.. Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no charge. As usual a short business meeting for the section members will follow the presentation. We will discuss website progress, the Gallery Golf project and catch up with recent activities and accomplishments of our members. If section members would like to add an item to the agenda please email me. Mike Anderson, Artisans' section chair, mike@michaelandersonstudio.com
