Soulard Fine Arts Building Tour/Open House


For our next meeting the Creative Artisans' section of the St. Louis Artist's Guild plans to visit The Soulard Fine Arts Building on March 7 at 7:00 pm. The artists of the Soulard Fine Arts Building will be on hand to discuss their work and studios. Please let us know if you plan to attend. Tour is limited to 15 persons.

Photos: St. Anthonys tour

Nearly twenty individuals attended the creative artisans' tour of St. Anthonys church on Sat, 2/2. The tour was led by parishioner and church historian Mike Mount.
 

The craftsmanship through the church is extraordinary as exemplified by the confesssionals and massive stained glass windows.
 The stained glass windows are original to 1904 structure and designed by Emil Frei.
Tour leader Mike Mount describes the symbolic elements in a painted icon located within a chapel that is along side the main alter of the church.
 At the conclusion of the tour several participants ate lunch at a large shared table at nearby Urban Eats, a diner that features a fusion of cuisines. Thanks to the St. Louis Drawing and Painting Meetup for posting the tour announcement and its members for the great turnout.
