Next Artisans' meeting, Thurs, Feb 2, 7 pm
A Unique Color Palette Enhances Archival Imagery For Laclede GasArtisans' section member, Michael Anderson has completed two new works commissioned by The Laclede Gas Company for the new Yaeger Conference Center at its corporate headquarters at 720 Olive, St. Louis, MO. The dedication of the state-of-the-art meetings facility, named in recognition of retiring C.E.O. Doug Yaeger, was held on Friday, January 20, 2012. The paintings are based on black & white photos from the company's archive.
Mike will discuss his painting techniques and the unusual color palette used to complete his recent works. He will also screen a rough cut of a short video that features time-lapse photography of the artist at work in the studio.
Following Mike's presentation section members will conduct their regular monthly business meeting. There is a lot to discuss as the section will begin planning it's activities for 2012-13.
As always Creative Artisans' section meetings are open to all members of the St. Louis Artists' Guild and to anyone interested in the visual arts. There is no charge to attend this event.
